|About the Missouri Nurses Association|
The Missouri Nurses Association has been in existence for over one hundred years, and is the only full-service professional organization representing Missouri's 90,000-plus registered nurses.
The association is also a constituent member of the American Nurses Association.
Our mission is to protect and enhance registered professional nursing practice in all environments to assure quality, affordable and accessible health care for people in Missouri.
Key program areas of the association include legislation and governmental affairs, accreditation and provision of continuing nursing education, professional development and supporting nursing practice and research.
Legislation and governmental affairs encompass a broad range of issues, including workplace rights and safety, adequate and safe nurse staffing, continuing competency, access to quality health care, ethics and human rights, health care finance and nursing services reimbursement, nursing education, nursing practice and professional licensure. Additionally, the affiliated MONA PAC (Political Action Committee) receives individual contributions and supports statewide candidates supporting nursing's agenda on important issues.
Various levels of involvement and different membership options are available to registered professional nurses through the Missouri Nurses Association, and additional information is available online or by calling 573-636-4623.
