2016 Advocacy in Action: Nursing Leaders Conference - November 15, 2016
Nursing leaders do more than delegate, dictate, and direct; nursing leaders make change happen. These nurses must learn to apply their leadership skills to the public policy arena and influence health care in meaningful ways. MONA believes it is vital to involve all Missouri nurses in advocacy. Each and every nurse has the potential to make a positive impact on the profession through public policy advocacy for patients, nurses and the nursing profession.
This conference will teach participants to utilize their leadership abilities in the political world. Nurses are the most trusted profession, and policymakers listen when nurses speak – this conference will help nurses speak confidently with one strong voice. This activity will provide insight into the legislative and regulatory processes and empower nursing leaders to positively impact health care policy through advocacy.
TARGET AUDIENCE: This activity is designed for nursing leaders: chief nursing officers, deans of schools of nursing, vice presidents and directors of nursing, leaders of facilities, and leaders of education.
