The MONA CE Approver Unit Committee recently received revisions to the educational design criteria from the ANCC COA and has developed two new manuals to assist providers in understanding the criteria and in completing the applications for approval. The 6th edition, Continuing Education Excellence in Missouri: Provider Approval Manual will assist agencies/facilities during the application process to become an Approved Provider. The second manual, 6th edition, Continuing Education Excellence in Missouri: Education Activity Approval Manual will assist agencies/facilities during the application process to have their individual educational activities approved for nursing contact hours. General Questions - Questions Answered Include:

How do I apply for nursing contact hours through MONA?

Single Activity Questions - Questions Answered Include:

Who is eligible to apply for MONA approval for education activities?
What is the difference between a contact hour and CE unit? Are they the same?
Under the old criteria, we only had to document three hours of our seven-hour course. Is the new criterion stating that we now have to document all seven hours?

Provider Questions - Questions Answered Include:

How will participants know that an education activity has been awarded contact hours approved by the Missouri Nurses Association?
My agency recently received provider approval. Several area-nursing organizations have asked us to approve their programs for contact hours. Is this acceptable?
